What is NDIS?
NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme, which is a program that provides support to people with a permanent and significant disability. National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is responsible for implementing the scheme.
What is a NDIS support provider and what do they do?
NDIS providers provide tailored support services to individuals based on their NDIS plans(inc funding). These plans are based on the accessed needs of the individual Participant by the NDIS.
Who is PRODA?
PRODA stands for Provider Digital Access, an online system that verifies and authenticates identities to provide secure access to Australian government services
PRODA can be used to access services from several government departments, including Centrelink, Department of Veterans' Affairs, Education, Health, and NDIS.
Who is a LAC?
LAC- is the Local Area Coordinator - A Local Area Coordinator (LAC) is a key point of contact for people with disabilities aged 9–64 who are using the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). LACs help people with disabilities understand and access the NDIS, create and implement their NDIS plan, and connect with community supports. LAC also works with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants to help them understand, identify, access, implement, and review aspects of your plan with the NDIS.

Is your disability caused by a permanent impairment (The impairment may be intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory, physical, or psychosocial)

Do you need some supports now to reduce your future need for support (You may be eligible if you need some supports now for your family to build their skills to help you

What services does NDIS pay for?
A quick guide to the services, eligible NDIS participants based on needs assessments by the NDIS are generally grouped into 3 Categories
Core Supports- Essential Services and assistance for daily living and basic needs. Examples include personal grooming such as bathing, dressing, transport to social activities or employment, some consumables, assistance with social connection and participation.
Capital Supports – Assistive technology, such as communication devices, mobility aids, home modification support for accessibility within the home.
Capacity Building – This is intended to enhance the participants skills to live more independent over time. Which includes life skills development such as social skills independent living skills and improving daily living skills like cooking, household tasks, Managing and coordinating supports, Employment related supports and services, therapy,
